Activity Assistant Job Summary

As an Activity Assistant at Ledgewood Bay, you will work closely with the Engagement Director to create a vibrant and lively community for our residents. Your role will involve planning and running a variety of activities that cater to their physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Engagement Director to plan and execute activities such as exercise programs, art projects, trips, spiritual gatherings, and events with speakers and music.
  • Connect with residents on a personal level to understand their interests and preferences, ensuring that activities are enjoyable and meaningful.
  • Organize trips outside the community, ensuring the safety and happiness of residents.
  • Create a warm and inclusive environment that fosters friendships and discovery among residents.
  • Record resident participation and feedback to inform program improvements.
  • Contribute creative ideas to keep our programs exciting and relevant to seniors.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; courses in recreation, gerontology, or related fields are a plus.
  • Ability to connect with seniors and build strong relationships.
  • Creativity and ability to plan and lead activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and evenings.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.
