Ski/Snowboard Junior Instructor

The Hermitage Club at Haystack Mountain is seeking a patient, caring, and energetic Skier or Snowboarder to join our team as a Junior Ski/Snowboard Instructor.

This role involves supporting lead instructors with group supervision, organization, and safety best practices while attending to the physical, social, and cognitive needs of our young students.

We are looking for applicants who are at least 14 years old by December 1st and are interested in becoming instructors in the future.

Hiring preference is given to members of The Hermitage Club.

• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Create a positive learning environment for our members.
• Work within The Hermitage Club's policies and procedures.
• Assist ski instructors with teaching seasonal and daily lessons.
• Help set up and break down children's corral and learning areas.
• Supervise children during snow-front check-in and check-out.
• Assist with loading and unloading the chair lift safely.
• Help with snack, lunch, and bathroom breaks.
• Supervise children throughout the day.
• Provide positive, informative, and courteous communication with guests and members.

• Applicants must be at least 14 years old by December 1st.
• Ability to interact and communicate with children aged 3-6 and 7-12.
• Enthusiasm for working with children.
• Willingness to learn.
• Intermediate-level skiing or snowboarding skills.
• Ability to safely ride the lifts with 1 or 2 children.
• Love for winter sports and a reverence for the outdoors.
• Cooperative and supportive attitude, creating a team spirit working environment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.

• Required to sit, stand, kneel, walk, and ski/snowboard for extended periods.
• Required to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently.
• Required to work outside in inclement weather in a winter alpine environment.
• Required to wear an approved helmet when skiing at all times.
