Job Description

At Musco Sports Lighting, we're seeking a Product Development Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Developmental Engineering Team, you'll design, standardize, release, and maintain lighting control systems for various applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and prototype controls for lighting projects
  • Develop and document product-specific drawings and documents
  • Produce system deployment documents, including product configuration tables and wiring schematics
  • Review and evaluate product specifications
  • Manage project/product development from concept to final product
  • Work with compliance for UL/IEC/CE listings and other country-specific product certifications
  • Provide technical expertise on controls and electrical matters
  • Perform electrical calculations for sizing electrical components and coordinating system components
  • Interface with other departments, including purchasing, quality, and warranty

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with electrical emphasis
  • UL508a MTR certification or ability to obtain certification
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of UL, IEC, CE, CSA, NPFA, and NEC preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Experience with communication protocols, including RS485, TCP/IP, DMX, and MQTT, and associated hardware preferred
  • Experience with single and 3-phase power systems required
  • Good understanding of EMI and mitigation strategies preferred
  • Networking and IoT knowledge preferred
  • Strong motivational aptitude
