The Role:

We are seeking a talented Senior Data Architect to join our team and play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing our Business Intelligence (BI) strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for the entire BI architecture, from data acquisition and storage to analysis and presentation, leveraging Looker or Tableau capabilities alongside other industry-leading BI tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Scalable BI Architecture: Develop a scalable, secure, and future-proof BI architecture utilizing Looker or Tableau as the primary platform.
  • Install and Configure BI Environments: Install, configure, and maintain Tableau Server Environments.
  • Monitor Performance and Troubleshoot Issues: Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure availability and reliability.
  • Develop Data Models and Optimize Server Performance: Develop data models in DBT or LookML, optimize ELT/ETLs and data transformation, and integrate data warehouses and lakes with Looker or Tableau.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable insights using dashboards and reports alongside other relevant BI tools.
  • Data Governance and Security: Ensure data governance, security, and quality standards are met within the Looker or Tableau environment and across the entire BI ecosystem.
  • Mentor and Guide Junior Team Members: Mentor and guide junior BI developers and analysts on BI best practices and provide guidance on other relevant BI tools.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 10+ Years of Experience in BI Design and Development: Minimum 10+ years of experience in BI design and development.
  • Proven Experience in Data Modeling and ETL Processes: Proven experience in data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
  • Strong Understanding of Data Governance and Security Best Practices: Strong understanding of data governance and security best practices.
  • Expert Knowledge of Looker or Tableau: Either expert knowledge of Looker (including LookML development, data visualization, and administration) or expert knowledge of Tableau (including data model development, data visualization, and administration).
  • Experience with Integrating BI Tools with Various Data Sources: Experience with integrating Looker or Tableau with various data sources.
  • Expert Level Experience with DBT: Expert level experience with DBT.
  • Excellent Communication, Collaboration, and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Education and Travel Expectation: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Up to 10% travel expected.

Compensation and Benefits: We offer a competitive salary range of $160,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to the base salary, we also offer benefits such as comprehensive health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development. The estimated salary for this position is $175,000 per year, based on the location and responsibilities of the role.
