About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team in the Ob/Gyn Emergency Department at UTHealth Houston. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support our mission to deliver outstanding medical services.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position with evening, night, and weekend shifts, offering shift differential pay. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree as a Physician Assistant and current Texas licensure and certification from the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants. Basic Life Support certification is also required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct complex patient evaluations and assessments, providing appropriate treatment under the supervision of a physician.
  • Coordinate and implement patient plans of care, ensuring seamless transitions between shifts.
  • Perform physical examinations, provide episodic care, and order laboratory and diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Monitor patient treatment programs and inform attending physicians of pertinent medical information.
  • Facilitate patient education on medical processes, medication, nutrition, and health promotion or preventive health.
Requirements
  • Master's degree as a Physician Assistant
  • Current Texas licensure as a Physician Assistant
  • Current certification from the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Ability to work evening, night, and weekend shifts
