About the Job

This role serves as a primary liaison for individual investigators assigned by the Chief Research Officer. The incumbent will provide direct support and guidance to Principal Investigators applying for research funding through various federal agencies and non-federal organizations.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a pre-award and post-award liaison for faculty researchers, assisting with proposal preparation and submission, budget development, and grant administration.
  • Collaborate with campus and system-wide administrative offices to facilitate sponsored research management, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and contractual requirements.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of assisted grant activity, including monitoring budgets, expenses, and reports.
  • Provide training and support to work-study students on office procedures and duties assigned to them.
  • Maintain confidential files and ensure discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant University software systems, including PeopleSoft and other logistical tools.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of office management principles, report writing methods, and general office equipment operations.

  • Ability to understand and explain laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, specifications, standards, and guidelines governing assigned unit activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to determine applicability of data and make recommendations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with faculty, administrators, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Supervisory experience and ability to lead and train team members.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $52,449.02 - $73,712.34 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include 75% employer-paid health insurance, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, long-term disability, state pension retirement plan, and optional retirement savings plans.
