Rail Terminal Gate Inspector Job Description

Pacific Rail Services is seeking a skilled Rail Terminal Gate Inspector to join our team at the Norfolk Southern Walkertown, NC rail terminal. As an entry-level position, no experience is required, and we'll provide comprehensive training to ensure your success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify load sheets and inspect arriving and departing automobiles for damage.
  • Check truck drivers in and out of the facility, maintaining accurate records.
  • Document any damage incurred on arriving or departing units, communicating with supervisors as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to HAZMAT and OSHA regulations.
  • Be familiar with railyard operations, maintaining a safe distance from moving vehicles.
Work Environment:
  • Work in outdoor environmental conditions, including rain, snow, ice, cold, heat, wind, dust, and fumes.
  • Exposure to frequent noise levels and hazardous equipment.
Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Pass a 7-year background check and a drug test
  • No GED or High School Diploma required
