About the Role: We are currently seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Preoperative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safety and comfort of our patients throughout their perioperative journey.

Responsibilities: As an RN in our PACU, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' preoperative and postoperative status, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and hemodynamic stability, as well as pain and comfort needs.
  • Clinical Decision Making: Interpret information from various noninvasive and invasive monitors, describe underlying pathophysiology of commonly encountered disease processes, and apply relevant scoring systems for patient transfer.
  • Care Planning: Develop individualized perianesthesia plans of care, implement interventions to maintain patient comfort and safety, and delegate tasks according to state nurse practice act and job descriptions.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other disciplines, participate in quality review and performance improvement projects, and use problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships.

Qualifications: To be considered for this role, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Experience: One year of preoperative or PACU experience required.
  • Licensure: Current state licensure to practice nursing within good standing.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required within 90 days of employment.
