Creative Financial Staffing is partnering with a fast-growing Real Estate Investment Trust to find a skilled Director of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting. This role will lead all SEC reporting functions and ensure compliance with SOX framework.

  • They have entered into a strategic partnership that will provide nearly $500M of capital for acquisitions.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead all SEC reporting functions, including preparation and review of 10-K, 10-Q, and other filings.
  • Maintain compliance with SOX framework, ensuring effective internal controls and processes.
  • Conduct technical accounting research to support complex transactions and ensure adherence to GAAP.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to support audits and resolve technical accounting issues.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements and ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Support M&A activities with financial due diligence, as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
  • 8+ years of experience in public accounting or industry, with a strong background in SEC reporting and SOX compliance.
  • Real Estate industry experience highly preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead a team, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
