Maintenance Staff PT

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Staff PT to join our team at the YMCA of Southwest Florida. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on our buildings, mechanical equipment, and other property.
Key Responsibilities- Perform minor and major repairs of all buildings and equipment
- Replace broken windows, repair doors and door locks, and install window blinds
- Install flooring of all types
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures, including toilets, sinks, and urinals
- Install electrical wiring and equipment, replace and repair lighting fixtures and ballast
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required
- Assist with the renovation and remodeling of buildings, repair plaster and drywall, and perform interior and exterior painting
- Responsible for upholding all staff safety requirements, including cleaning protocols throughout the day
- Inspect and perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance to HVAC systems and equipment
- Conduct routine grounds and building inspections and initiate repairs as needed
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of 2-3 years of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
- Good skill in the use of hand and power tools
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Successfully complete State of Florida Criminal History Background Check requirements and meet the Association's policies on background screening
- CPR and First Aid Certifications required
- Annual Completion of YMCA Blood Borne Pathogens Training
- Annual Completion of YMCA Child Sexual Abuse Prevention class
- Staff Safety Requirements/Cleaning Protocols
- Additional training classes as recommended by Supervisor
