Senior Staff Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our team at Ledgent. This role will be pivotal in ensuring timely and accurate closure of the books for our global operations.

The Senior Staff Accountant will collaborate closely with our finance director to lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes for multiple entities. This includes preparation of month-end financial reporting support schedules, coordination with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely submission of financial data, and performance of reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and resolution of any discrepancies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US GAAP and proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP). They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes for multiple entities.
  • Preparation of month-end financial reporting support schedules.
  • Coordinate with finance team to ensure accurate and timely submission of financial data.
  • Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements for management review.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local regulations and GAAP.
  • Provide support for audits conducted by external auditors.
  • Maintenance and control of general ledger, to ensure proper classification, accuracy and completeness.
  • Cash and Banking transactions and reconciliation.
  • Provide recurring and ad-hoc financial reporting support for internal departments.
  • Assist in the administration of corporate administrative items (state filings, licenses,...)
  • Assisting in future company acquisitions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting and closing processes
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Compensation: $75,000 to $80,000 per year
