We are seeking an exceptional Culinary Director to lead our kitchen team at Salt Hotels in Connecticut.

Culinary Leadership

The Culinary Director is responsible for all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu development, inventory management, staff leadership, and ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation.

  1. Develop and execute a seasonal, locally-sourced menu that aligns with the restaurant's vision and brand.
  2. Oversee food preparation and ensure consistency in flavor, quality, and presentation.
  3. Stay updated on culinary trends and incorporate innovative techniques into menu offerings.
Leadership & Team Development

Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and professional growth.

  1. Create and manage staff schedules, ensuring appropriate coverage during service hours.
  2. Lead by example, maintaining a positive, productive, and respectful kitchen environment.
Operations & Cost Management

Manage food and labor costs, ensuring profitability without compromising quality.

  1. Oversee inventory control, ordering, and vendor relationships to minimize waste and ensure fresh ingredients.
  2. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
Qualifications
  1. Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a fine dining or upscale casual setting.
  2. Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  3. Strong knowledge of inventory management, cost control, and kitchen operations.
  4. Possession of creativity and passion for sourcing local ingredients and creating dishes that reflect a sense of place.
Benefits
