Safety and Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety and Compliance Specialist to join our team at Daniel O'Connell's Sons.
About the Role:This critical role involves providing safety leadership to assigned projects, ensuring the delivery of safety orientations, conducting safety audits, and handling incident analyses and workers compensation matters. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our company's safety expectations in accordance with management and compliance regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide safety leadership to assigned projects, ensuring effective communication with project teams and stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive safety training programs to ensure employees have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their duties safely.
- Conduct regular safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Investigate incidents and near misses to determine root causes and implement measures to prevent reoccurrence.
- Collaborate with project teams and subcontractors to ensure safe work practices and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Review and update job safety analyses (JSAs) and other pertinent safety plans to ensure they are accurate and up-to-date.
- Participate in our company's continuous improvement program to drive safety excellence and innovation.
- A degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably with a strong background in audit and inspection techniques.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to travel within the greater North East Region, with some overnight stays, as required by the position.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
The estimated salary range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
