Nursing Care Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Nursing Care Assistant to join our team at Good Samaritan Society, a leading provider of housing and services to seniors. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and excellent benefits.
About the RoleThe Nursing Care Assistant will serve as a caregiver to residents during scheduled work periods, providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a warm demeanor, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining/recording vital signs.
- Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as appropriate.
- Aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if needed.
- Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
Compensation and Benefits:
This role offers a competitive salary of $19.00 - $22.05 per hour, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, work/life balance benefits, and a generous time off package.
