Job Overview

The Certified Medication Aide role is a vital part of our healthcare team, assisting licensed nurses in providing safe and ethical care to clients. This position involves administering prescribed medications and completing delegated nursing tasks under the supervision of a licensed nurse, as allowed by state law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dispense oral, inhalation, and topical medications to patients under direct supervision of a licensed nurse, unless otherwise allowed by state law.
  • Observe patients for drug reactions and report any problems to the nurses.
  • Perform tasks associated with medication administration, including patient vital signs, calculate medication dosages, and stock the medication cart.
  • Record medication administration according to agency procedure.
  • Assist the nurse in providing care to clients, which includes observation and reporting of client needs.
Requirements
  • High school diploma.
  • At least one year of healthcare industry experience.
