Job Title: Lead Infant Guide

At Bandwidth, we're seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Lead Infant Guide to join our Ohana Child Development Center team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for our youngest learners, promoting their cognitive, social, and emotional development.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement Montessori/RIE-based programming for infants and toddlers.
  • Manage the physical care of children, including diapering and toileting, using Montessori and RIE techniques.
  • Ensure the daily care of every child by following all school/classroom procedures and standards, as well as all licensing guidelines.
  • Provide visual supervision and child safety at all times.
  • Observe and document observations regularly for each child.
  • Prepare and maintain the environment based on observations of the needs of the children.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
  • Provide daily reports to parents documenting diapering, sleeping, and eating.
  • Model appropriate pro-social behavior and redirect children when necessary using positive discipline strategies.
  • Form relationships with families, children, and co-teachers that are respectful of individual differences and culture, family styles, and cultural/socioeconomic diversity.
  • Supervise and develop co-teachers to ensure they are contributing to the peaceful, prepared environment.
  • Meet regularly with co-teachers to discuss observations, environmental design, curriculum planning, and challenges to ensure all guides are coordinating and collaborating.
  • Provide developmental reports to parents and conduct parent conferences three times per year.
  • Communicate important information to co-teachers regarding aspects of the children and classroom.
  • Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of Ohana and Bandwidth at all times.
  • Keep up with required training hours and certifications according to licensing.
  • Be open to applying new teaching and learning strategies as directed by the Director and the Ohana Board.
  • Attend faculty meetings regularly.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • MACTE-accredited Montessori certification.
  • Three years of experience working in a Montessori environment (infant-toddler level).
  • Montessori/RIE caregiving techniques.
  • Skilled in observation techniques and documentation.
  • Effective communication skills (oral and written).
Bonus Points:
  • B.A. or B.S. in early childhood education or child development.
  • Masters in related fields.
  • Five or more years of experience working in a Montessori infant-toddler environment.
  • Knowledge of Positive Discipline.
  • Fluency in languages other than English.
