Assistant Store Manager: Leadership and Operations

- Assist store leaders in supervising day-to-day store activities and ensuring overall store performance
- Manage schedules, develop operational action plans, and identify training opportunities for team growth
- Communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports for mutual understanding
- Provide product feedback, including recommendations for new items or discontinued products
- Participate in interviewing store personnel and ensure they adhere to inventory procedures and cash control policies
- Address operational customer concerns in the absence of direct leaders and maintain store cleanliness standards
- Assist in achieving store payroll and total loss budget, inventory counts, and training new employees
- Supervise day-to-day operations, escalating issues to appropriate levels of support and leadership when necessary
- Ensure direct reports complete assigned responsibilities effectively for high-quality customer service
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Provide and lead others to provide prompt and courteous customer service
- Develop rapport, trust, and open communication for employee growth and performance
- Understand and apply company policies and procedures, as well as management principles concerning budgeting and expenses
- Operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
- Stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner
- Meet state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
- A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
- Prior management experience preferred
