Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting chemical and physical laboratory tests of solid materials and liquids, analyzing test data, and performing routine Quality Audits of the Quality System, Manufacturing Process, and Facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Laboratory Tests
    • Set up laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control.
    • Test and analyze materials used as ingredients, in process materials, and finished products to verify conformity to specifications.
    • Document results of tests and analyses on standardized forms, write test reports, and prepare graphs and charts.
  • Quality Audits
    • Perform routine Quality System Audits, Facility GMP Inspections, and Production Process Audits.
    • Review and maintain completed production records for conformance to GMP documentation requirements, obtain needed corrections, and file.
  • Investigations and Root Cause Analysis
    • Perform investigations to identify root cause and corrective actions.
  • Training and Development
    • Use PowerPoint and other methods to deliver Quality topic training to new hires and small employee groups.

Requirements

  • 1+ years in a Quality Auditor or Quality Control position in a manufacturing facility required, preferably RTE food manufacturing.
  • Prior experience with FDA regulated industry or Safe Quality Food (SQF), BRC, AIB certified industry preferred.
  • Experience conducting internal quality audits and inspections preferred.
  • Experience working with minimal to no supervision required.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED); or equivalent experience as determined by HR required.
  • Bachelors or Associates Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a similar field preferred.

Essential Capabilities

  • Strong critical reasoning skills with the ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Microsoft Office and PC skills required.
  • Ability to make sound decisions regarding resource utilization and needs.
  • Aptitude for teambuilding and employee engagement.
  • Strong organizational, time management, verbal, and written communication skills.
