Job Description:
  • This role involves researching shipment statuses and collaborating with carrier partners to update stakeholders on the latest developments.
  • The successful candidate will analyze carrier detention claims and work closely with plants to secure approvals.
  • The position requires investigating late deliveries, updating shipment notes, and re-scheduling as necessary within the TMS system.
  • Maintaining customer location databases and providing updates to primary contacts are key responsibilities.
  • The ideal candidate will also undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Researching missing check calls with carriers and updating shipment statuses in the TMS system.
  • Covering detention email boxes and researching carrier detention requests with plants to obtain rejections or approvals.
  • Reviewing requests for expedited shipment approval and following up with plants to approve or deny.
  • Investigating missed pickups from large raw material suppliers and taking corrective action.
  • Maintaining customer location and carrier databases, making updates as needed.
  • Organizing highest rejection and spot quote lanes weekly, highlighting new lanes not previously reported.
  • Backing up load planning and execution in the TMS system.
  • Assisting in executing and communicating carrier scorecard data results.
  • Regularly checking carrier safety scores and alerting the Logistics Manager to problem areas.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • 1-3 years of customer service experience preferred.
  • Previous transportation or logistics experience is an asset.
  • Strong word processing skills in Outlook or Word, basic Excel knowledge an advantage.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Results-oriented, sense of urgency, excellent communication skills, and self-motivation.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Strong prioritization, planning, and reporting competency.
