Construction Equipment Technician

At Haydon Companies, we are seeking an experienced Construction Equipment Technician to join our team. This is a Safety-Sensitive position that requires a strong understanding of heavy machinery operation and construction safety procedures.

Salary and BenefitsThe estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000, depending on experience. ResponsibilitiesThe Construction Equipment Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining heavy equipment vehicles, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, standard practices, and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a general educational knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and 1-2 years related operating experience and/or training. They must be physically capable of climbing up and down, above, inside, and under equipment and able to perform shoveling, standing, or sitting for considerable amounts of time.
RequirementsThe requirements for this position include a strong understanding of technical skills, controlling operations of equipment or systems, watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly, determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed on equipment, and understanding and abiding by all government processes and regulations. Requirements as a Safety-Sensitive position include pre- and post-employment screenings, including drug testing as outlined by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and motor vehicle record (MVR) background checks.
