About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Banking Relationship Manager to join our team at City National Bank. As a key member of our commercial lending team, you will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with business banking clients in the assigned business segment and/or geographic areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Manage Relationships: Identify and develop profitable relationships with prospects and clients consistent with the objectives of the bank through extensive business development activity.
  • Provide Effective Solutions: Work closely with existing and new clients to understand their specific financial requirements and provide effective solutions, while maintaining the credit quality standards of the bank.
  • Collaborate with Other Departments: Develop relationships and support other CNB departments and colleagues to provide customers and prospects with the solutions recommended.
  • Prepare Relationship Plans: Prepare a Relationship Plan and calling schedule for each client or prospect in conjunction with the strategic business development program.
  • Negotiate Transactions: Negotiate transactions; document and close loan transactions, ensuring conformance with Bank policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent the Bank: Represent the Bank by actively participating in outside civic and community affairs, business and industry-related organizations, and other professional activities as appropriate.
  • Monitor and Analyze Results: Monitor and analyze relationship results and account activities, determining client profitability and making recommendations regarding accounts to be further developed or eliminated.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of banking experience required.
  • Minimum 8 years of commercial lending experience within the segment required.
  • Minimum 5 years of credit experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred to be in good standing under The Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (Safe Act) and be registered/licensed with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS); or must be able to be registered under the Safe Act.
  • Working knowledge of Bank operations, policies and procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • General knowledge of Bank products and services.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good problem solving skills.
