Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Care Specialist to join our team in a correctional facility setting. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health care services to inmates, promoting their well-being and rehabilitation.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to inmates, including assessments, treatment planning, and interventions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, using evidence-based practices and interventions.
  • Monitor patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid California license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician.
  • At least one year of post-license experience assisting mental health professionals in the delivery of preventative, therapeutic, and rehabilitative psychiatric services to emotionally disturbed or mentally ill clients at the level of Psychiatric Technician I.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of mental health theories, assessment tools, and treatment modalities.
