Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position ranges from $46,080 to $49,920, based on an hourly wage of $22.00 - $24.00.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Court Reporting Specialist to join our team in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in audio/video technologies and digital recording, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate audio/video equipment in various environments, ensuring high-quality recordings.
  • Mix multiple audio tracks and monitor for interference, maintaining optimal sound levels.
  • Position and adjust microphones for ideal capture, using knowledge of acoustics and signal processing.
  • Assist clients with technology issues, providing support and troubleshooting expertise.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of departmental policy, the legal field, and audio/video technology.
  • Track and log key events during legal proceedings, including spellings, exhibits, and objections.
  • Swear in deponents and capture their testimony under oath, maintaining a professional demeanor.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess some experience or knowledge of the legal industry, preferably with a 2- or 4-year degree. They must be comfortable with A/V technologies, have a professional appearance, and experience dealing face-to-face with clients. Ability to adapt to unexpected situations and work a changing schedule is essential.
