Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our team as a Patient Care Specialist. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing patient flow, providing nursing care, and working collaboratively with our healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Manage patient flow and relations within designated areas, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Provide nursing care to patients who present with urgent, emergent, or potential health problems, utilizing knowledge of basic nursing principles, practices, and ethics.
  • Work under the direction of clinician or other licensed personnel, collaborating to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Assist with directing back-office team on a day-to-day basis, ensuring job tasks are performed in a productive and high-quality manner.
  • Perform various clinical procedures, such as vitals, injections, venipuncture, and specimen collection, while maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Instruct and educate patients regarding test results, procedures, and follow-up care, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
  • Evaluate and document incoming telephone calls, competently assessing and advising under the direction of the clinician.
  • Maintain clean and organized patient care areas, medical equipment, and supplies according to SAC Health Policy and Procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Graduate of an accredited LVN program required.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current, active, and unrestricted LVN License required; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (must be American Heart Association or Red Cross accredited program).
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience as an LVN preferred.
  • Technical/Motor Skills: Proficient computer skills, including data entry; ability to use office equipment, such as fax machines, scanners, printers, and copiers.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Essential Mental Abilities: Prioritize assignments, follow instructions, proofread documents for accuracy, and recognize safety problems.
