Job Summary

The Salvation Army USA Southern Territory is seeking a highly skilled and organized Human Resources Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our administration department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective accomplishment of various office tasks, preparing routine and special reports, and ensuring office operations are in compliance with established departmental policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Office Coordination: Prepare, type, and process correspondence, check requests, audit sheets, forms, invoices, legal documents, notices, bulletins, manuals, etc.; ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the same.
  • Human Resources: Complete all employment action documentation for Corps employees, including new hire, background checks, E-Verify, classification changes, and separation, FMLA, and workers compensation; prescreen and interview applicants for prospective employment; conduct new hire orientation for new employees; explain policies, procedures, and mission statement to all new employees; complete and maintain employment files for employees.
  • Administrative Support: Participate in regular staff meetings with the office employees to discuss work priorities, practices, and procedures; resolve operational and personnel problems; provide recommendations for improvements and/or enhancements in office productivity; order office supplies and ensure that the office supply inventory is maintained at a level to meet the needs of the department.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate degree from an accredited college or university in business administration or related field.
  • Experience: At least two years experience in the performance of human resources, office coordination, or similar.
  • Certifications: Valid State Drivers License.
Working Conditions

The work is usually performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
