Cyber Security Specialist

KBR's National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities.
In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country's most critical role – protecting our national security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides expertise and direction in developing and modifying computer-based scientific, technical, and business software systems.
- Expertise in design development, code, testing, and debugging software.
- May work in one or several areas, such as equipment or software design, engineering evaluation or test, configuration management procedures, statistical analysis, and modeling
- Works with users to define existing or new system scope and objectives
- Provides analytical support and technical advice during the conceptualization, development, and implementation phases.
- Plans and schedule new applications systems projects with users, systems software, and computer center operations personnel, including identifying objectives, time frames, costs, and manpower requirements.
- Performs tasks necessary to ensure the identification and documentation of hazards within software systems using various analysis tools and techniques.
- Reviews and evaluates systems and software for adherence to government or commercial directives, standards, guidelines, and criteria concerning software safety and systems safety.
- Confirms design mitigations are captured in the design and its documentation and verifies implementation.
- May perform as a project lead responsible for the instruction, assigning, direction, and monitoring of the performance of assigned systems developers/analysts working on a specific project.

- 5 to 8 years with BS/BA or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA or 0 to 2 years with PhD.
Desired:
- Understanding of requirements and government information assurance and cyber security standards and practices.
- Experience verifying and validating systems and assessing cyber threats
Basic Compensation:
$80,000 to $120,000
This range is for the Maryland area only
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
