Overview:
As a Surgical Technician at CommonSpirit Health, you will be part of a nationally recognized spinal care team at Nebraska Spine Hospital. Our hospital is the choice for complex elective spine surgeries, located in the CHI Health Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, NE.

Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to work 3 days a week, Tuesday-Thursday, with 2-10 hour days and an 8 hour day. Your role will be to ensure that the operating areas are sterile and clean, confirming all equipment needed works properly. This is a critical role in making surgical procedures safe and successful for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring the equipment is functioning properly and safely
Prepares the operating room and the sterile field for surgical procedures by preparing sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment using sterile technique
Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology and how it relates to the patient and surgical procedure
Anticipates usual and unexpected events during the surgical procedure and responds in an efficient manner
Handles and processes surgical specimens according to established policy/procedure
Serves as a preceptor in training and orientation of fellow staff members and students
