About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team at BJC Behavioral Health.

As a key member of our staff, you will provide direct support to individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness, promoting their rehabilitation and quality of life through the Clubhouse Model of Psychiatric Rehabilitation.

Responsibilities
  • Clubhouse Unit Management: Organize and complete daily unit work with members, applying and modeling the Clubhouse Standards as stated by Clubhouse International.
  • Encouraging Member Participation: Creatively encourage members to participate in their rehabilitation through the Work Opportunities Development (WOD) program, making Clubhouse work urgent and meaningful.
  • Evening, Weekend, and Holiday Activities: Plan and participate in the Evening, Weekend, and Holiday (EWH) program, providing opportunities for members to engage in activities outside of regular hours.
  • Crisis Intervention Services: Provide crisis intervention services as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of our members.
Documentation Requirements
  • Progress Notes: Complete progress notes according to BJC BH standards, documenting member progress and any challenges faced.
  • Recovery Goals: Develop recovery goals with members during Clubhouse orientations, outlining their objectives and support needs.
Marketing/Outreach
  • Program Information: Provide program information to other community agencies about Clubhouse services, fostering partnerships and collaborations.
  • Member Engagement: Encourage member engagement in advocacy events and activities, promoting their empowerment and autonomy.
Training/Education
  • BJC BH Training: Participate in assigned training programs offered by BJC BH, enhancing your knowledge and skills in mental health rehabilitation.
  • Clubhouse International Training: Engage in training sessions provided by Clubhouse International, staying updated on best practices in the Clubhouse Model of Psychiatric Rehabilitation.

BJC Behavioral Health is a community health center providing behavioral health services to over 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults and emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, County, and surrounding areas.

As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health, we serve as a major point of entry for people eligible for mental health services funded by DMH.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Licenses & Certifications: Class E Driver's License in MO.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
