Intensive Care Nurse Position at University of New Mexico Hospitals

We are seeking an experienced Intensive Care Nurse to join our team at the University of New Mexico Hospitals. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to a positive work environment.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a strong background in intensive care nursing and excellent communication skills. They will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans, and implementing evidence-based practices to promote optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing various medical procedures, and monitoring vital signs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, identifying opportunities for improvement
- Develop and maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring timely and effective communication with healthcare providers
- Participate in education and training programs to enhance professional growth and development
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Current RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement state
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or equivalent required within six months of hire
- Prior experience as an ICU nurse; demonstrated expertise in critical care nursing
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
The salary range for this position is estimated to be between $65,000 and $95,000 per year, depending on experience.
