About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Food Manufacturing Sanitation Specialist to join our team at Seattle Gourmet Foods.

Job Summary

This role involves maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in our food processing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in sanitation or janitorial work, preferably in a food manufacturing or processing setting.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize food processing equipment and instruments according to established protocols and schedules.
  • Maintain focus on cleaning punches for mint press machines, ensuring they are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and free of residue or contaminants.
  • Clean and maintain conveyor belts, scales, truffle line, engrossing pans, and other equipment used in food processing.
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment as needed for thorough cleaning and sanitization.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Use appropriate cleaning agents, sanitizers, and tools to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Inspect equipment for damage, wear, or malfunction and report issues to relevant personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including storage and disposal of cleaning supplies and chemicals.
  • Collaborate with team members and departments to ensure efficient sanitation practices.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in sanitation or janitorial work, preferably in a food manufacturing or processing environment.
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitization techniques for food processing equipment and instruments.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and compliance standards (e.g., FDA, USDA, HACCP).
  • Ability to follow instructions, SOPs, and safety guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work during non-production hours as required for equipment cleaning and maintenance.
  • High level of reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
Compensation and Benefits
  • $22-$28/hour DOE
  • Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, paid vacation, and paid holidays, plus option for 401K with company match
