Flight Test Engineer IV

Job Summary:

JT4 is seeking a highly skilled Flight Test Engineer IV to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading flight-test execution as an onboard flying Test Conductor while monitoring safety of flight and data parameters in real-time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain test discipline during test execution, employing crew resource management and operational risk management techniques.
  • Lead pre and post-flight mission briefings.
  • Document test results post-flight.
  • Identify resources required for flight test missions, and coordinate with other teams such as discipline engineering, maintenance, management, and aircrew to ensure effective test execution.
  • Participate in all stages of test planning, including design reviews, test plan working groups, test plan technical and safety reviews, test card development, test execution, and post-test reporting as required.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and 8 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in engineering and a minimum of 6 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctorate degree in engineering and a minimum 4 years of related engineering experience.
  • A well-established, substantial, professional reputation in one or more of the principal technical disciplines of the Company.
  • The ability to direct senior technical personnel in project assignments involving research, development, integration, and sustainment of complex systems or processes.
  • Superior communications skills, both verbal and written, in day-to-day project activities as well as in briefing customers and in writing reports and proposals.
  • A working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools.
  • A valid, state-issued driver's license.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
  • U.S citizenship.

Working Conditions:

This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness.
