Job Summary

Magnet Medical is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a CT Technologist to work in Washington, D.C.

About the Role
  • This 13-week contract position requires a specialist with extensive experience in computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to prepare patients for diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Preparation and Communication
    • Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining the procedure and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
    • Verify patient information and medical history to ensure accurate diagnosis and safe imaging protocols.
  • Operation of CT Equipment
    • Operate and calibrate the CT scanner to ensure high-quality images are captured.
    • Administer contrast agents as required and monitor the equipment during imaging procedures.
  • Image Quality and Review
    • Review CT images for quality and accuracy, ensuring that all necessary areas are captured.
    • Collaborate with radiologists to ensure that images meet diagnostic standards.
  • Patient Safety and Comfort
    • Maintain a safe and clean environment in the CT room, adhering to radiation safety protocols and minimizing exposure.
    • Ensure proper patient positioning and follow-up care after procedures.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to determine the best imaging approach.
    • Document patient information and scan parameters in the electronic health record.
  • Radiation Safety and Compliance
    • Familiarize yourself with and comply with local regulations, such as HIPAA and Joint Commission guidelines.
    • Stay updated on changes to regulatory standards and industry best practices.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
  • Current certification in CT scanning
  • Extensive experience in CT imaging procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
