About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Water Resources Engagement Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing public engagement activities related to safe drinking water solutions, working with diverse community members and stakeholders to gather input on drinking water issues, and building relationships to effectively communicate drinking water information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Public Engagement Activities: Design and implement outreach and engagement strategies to achieve safe drinking water solutions, including meeting planning, logistics coordination, and follow-up activities.
  • Community Outreach and Stakeholder Engagement: Work with local community leaders and groups to develop relationships and gather input on drinking water issues, using data, research, and perspectives from diverse community members to inform engagement activities.
  • Communication and Relationship Building: Develop plain-language public communications and outreach materials, assist in developing templates and guidance related to equitable engagement approaches, and respond to public inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience Developing Equitable Public Engagement Activities: A minimum of 2 years of experience developing and implementing public engagement activities, specifically related to safe drinking water solutions.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong written, oral, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse community members and stakeholders.
  • Data-Driven Approach: Ability to use data, research, and perspectives from diverse community members to inform engagement activities.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $68,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience. The State of California offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
