Medical Transcription Specialist

At DOCS Dermatology, we are seeking a skilled Medical Transcription Specialist to join our laboratory team.
The ideal candidate will have excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills, as well as the ability to type quickly and accurately while proofreading.
Responsibilities include:
- Listening to and transcribing recordings to text files
- Maintaining accuracy while transcribing texts
- Completing transcriptions in a timely manner, reviewing grammar, punctuation, and spelling prior to submission
- Formatting and notating transcriptions based on specific client requirements
- Correcting any errors or inaccuracies in a timely manner
- Faxing completed reports to the appropriate provider
Requirements:
- Ability to type quickly and accurately while proofreading
- Excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills
- Excellent verbal communication, listening, and computer skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating system
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous transcription experience preferred
Physical Demands:
Sitting for prolonged periods of time, the ability to hear and understand speech, and the ability to use hands and fingers to operate a keyboard.
