Job Title: Construction Superintendent

Are you a seasoned construction professional looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Superintendent to join our team at SST Direct.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee the construction process of our federal government health care projects, including VA Hospitals. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of projects, managing trade partners, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation of our health and safety program and ensure adherence to safety standards at work sites.
  • Responsible for investigating and reporting accidents promptly.
  • Hold regular toolbox talks with trade partners to discuss safety concerns and best practices.
  • Interface with customers during construction and act as a liaison between the customer and our company.
  • Manage warranty follow-up and resolve discrepancies with customers.
  • Assess the need for variances in the budget and adjust it accordingly.
  • Evaluate construction progress and validate schedule progression.
  • Determine when a project is complete and ready for the next phase.
  • Assess product and design quality and make decisions on whether a project meets our standards.
  • Create work orders for additional work or alterations and negotiate costs with vendors.
  • Evaluate and ensure compliance with local and state building codes and regulations.
  • Interpret blueprints and design plans.
  • Manage and evaluate the performance of trade partners and assist with decision-making on partnerships.
  • Perform daily quality assurance checks on trade partners' work.
  • Ensure scheduling is appropriate and manage trade partners' work at proper times and intervals.
  • Collaborate with trade partners to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Make recommendations to upper management on improving the customer experience and construction process.
  • Work with the management team to share feedback and improve project planning activities.
  • Interface with sales personnel to manage neighborhood and customer activities.
  • Assist in resolving issues related to daily construction activities.
  • Authorize payment for materials received and work completed.
  • Estimate and authorize the purchase of materials.
  • Manage time deadlines and ensure homes are built on time and error-free.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial Superintendent construction experience.
  • Experience working with the Army Corps of Engineers is highly preferred.
  • Experience with renovations/TI/remodels on federal government health care projects is highly preferred.
  • Computer literate.
