Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Financial Operations Specialist to manage the financial records and transactions of our law firm in Albany, NY.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Record daily financial transactions, including payments, invoices, and deposits.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Reconcile bank and trust accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for firm leadership.
  • Oversee client billing, including generating invoices and tracking payments.
  • Ensure compliance with trust accounting regulations and maintain accurate client trust account records.
  • Assist with payroll processing and tax filings.
  • Collaborate with the firm's management and external accountants as needed.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in a law firm or similar professional services environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software QuickBooks.
  • Strong understanding of legal trust accounting and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Associate's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred).
  • Familiarity with legal billing systems and practices (a plus).
  • Ability to pass a background check and possess a valid driver's license.
Compensation Package:
  • $60,000 - $72,000 yearly salary.
  • Medical coverage with a national network and the firm pays for 75% of the Employee portion.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with a 4% matching contribution.
