**Job Summary**

We are seeking a part-time seasonal Visitor Center Assistant to support the Blair Visitor Center operations and guest services at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service, contribute to a welcoming environment for all guests, visitors, members, volunteers, and event attendees.

**Salary and Benefits**

$15.00 per hour. This position offers a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to work in a unique and dynamic environment.

**Job Description**

The Visitor Center Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Delivering excellent customer service and contributing to a welcoming environment
  • Supporting retail operations throughout the Visitor Center
  • Promoting, selling, and renewing memberships
  • Assessing visitor needs and providing up-to-date information regarding special events, the Nature Store, and Café
  • Developing an understanding of the ecology and natural history of Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary
  • Processing cash and credit card transactions
  • Assisting with special events and end-of-day facility closure

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A GED or high school diploma and 1-2 years of experience
  • Experience in customer service, retail, or administrative support roles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented and able to work autonomously
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale/ticketing databases and technology

**Work Environment**

This is a part-time seasonal position, working up to 25 hours per week, from December 2024 through April 2025. You will be required to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, and may be required to lift up to 15 lbs. and traverse at least 3 miles in a variety of weather conditions.
