The State of Arkansas is seeking a skilled Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity of our tax system and promoting compliance among our citizens. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to explain complex tax concepts to taxpayers and stakeholders. You will also need to be highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. In addition, you should have a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations, as well as the ability to analyze data and identify trends.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $41,570 - $69,500, depending on experience and qualifications. This includes a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. In this role, you will be responsible for examining evidentiary records, computing penalties and refunds, and collecting fees and child support payments. You will also assist taxpayers with completing tax returns and forms, and provide technical assistance on payment processing and related case problems. Additionally, you will maintain updated manuals and computerized files, and lead work activities of other personnel by training and instructing new employees and providing technical assistance.

The minimum qualification for this role is a high school diploma or equivalent. However, a degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. We also require knowledge of organizational management and public administration principles, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with taxpayers and stakeholders.
