SMT Manufacturing Engineer

At firstPRO, we are seeking a highly skilled SMT Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for providing technical engineering support to manufacturing printed circuit boards utilizing surface mount technology and through-hole technology.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide technical manufacturing support to maintain a reliable supply of printed circuit board assemblies for the timely delivery of products.
- Develop and standardize SMT and TH processes to improve efficiency and quality.
- Identify and implement preventive and corrective measures to continuously improve in-house production of quality printed circuit board assemblies.
- Create, optimize, and maintain SMT programs for Pick & Place Machines, Solder Paste Printers, Automatic Optical Inspection Machines, and Reflow Ovens.
- Review and assess SMT Printed Circuit Assembly (PCA) production systems for improvements in efficiency, throughput, and quality.
- Review PCB designs for Design for Manufacturability (DFM) to ensure compatibility with Bare Board house and Board Assembly house production requirements.
- Troubleshoot and disposition of non-conforming materials related to board assembly production.
- Provide analysis and resolutions to Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) for board assembly issues.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to enhance the skill level of SMT Operators and Technicians.
- Ensure SMT production equipment is maintained/calibrated properly.
- Document workflow routings and process times for Printed Circuit Assemblies.
- Provide reports on spares usage during Maintenance periods or machine breakdowns.
- Diagnose and repair departmental equipment down to PCB level.
- Develop, maintain, and review SMT Manufacturing related documents and procedures.
- Responsible for producing R&D prototype jobs on production equipment.
- Bachelor of Science in STEM degree.
- 5 years manufacturing engineering experience.
- Hands-on SMT engineering experience a plus.
- Proficient with computer/networking and general software such as MS Office.
- Experience with SAP, PARMI, BTU. KIC Profiler, Ekra/ASYS equipment and Visual Cam a plus.
- Good understanding of electrical drawings, schematics, and engineering drawings.
