Job Summary:

The LPN Acute Care position is a key role in our healthcare team, responsible for providing patient care to an assigned group of patients according to the multidisciplinary plan of care. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides patient care to an assigned group of patients according to the multidisciplinary plan of care
  • Works with patients under the direction of an RN, demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to acutely ill patients with cardiac, medical, surgical, and post-critical care needs
  • Facilitates and maintains a safe environment for patients and others by performing priority technical skills/procedures safely, effectively, efficiently, and legally
  • Utilizes the nursing process to deliver patient care, establishing and/or revising priority for patient care activities based on acuity of needs, resource availability, patient preference, and other departmental needs
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to identify actions to improve patient care, seeking supervision, consultation, and assistance when unable to perform effectively or independently
  • Initiates and/or maintains interventions to assure continuity of safe and effective care of patients, including medication management and patient education

Requirements:

  • CPR certification
  • Louisiana LPN unencumbered licensure (required)
  • One or more years related experience (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
