Job Summary
The University of California, Merced is seeking a Medical Education Program Manager to support the development of future physicians. The successful candidate will work closely with faculty to ensure students have a positive learning experience and master the foundational science content covered in the first 18 months of the medical education curriculum. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

About the Position
This is a hybrid position that involves coordinating course project plans, organizing faculty planning meetings, managing student learning materials, schedules, and attendance via online platforms, maintaining databases, and attending all course sessions to provide support. The Medical Education Program Manager will also work closely with fellow coordinators on the Foundational Science team to share best practices, support each other's work, and engage in professional development.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with program managers and/or faculty to meet the educational needs of program learners through collaborative development and implementation of programmatic activities, which may include program competencies, curriculum, and exams.
- Monitor learner files as well as program documentation and policy to ensure compliance with established and evolving standards. Develop and maintain program processes for documentation to meet regulatory requirements.
- Serve as point person for learners, answering questions and disseminating program information. Resolve ad hoc issues relative to program learners. Advise learners on planning, initiation, and completion of their studies. Manage all communications between course leadership and students.
- Collaborate with program faculty and leadership to develop learner assessment documentation, including assessment tools and assessment strategies / timelines. Implement learner assessment strategies and ensure compliance with deadlines. Analyze learner performance, curriculum effectiveness, and impact of rotation experience and other educational activities. Provide summary reports of evaluations to program leadership.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related area, such as administration, education, public health and three or more years of related experience; and / or equivalent experience / training. A master's degree in Education, Public Health or related area is preferred. Three years of directly related, progressively responsible experience in educational program management is required.
- Demonstrated experience and documented excellence in oral and written communications skills, including active listening and critical thinking. Strong interpersonal skills, actively cooperating and supporting the work of others. Ability to work productively with anyone regardless of background, empathetic and aware of impact on others. Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to complete work and meet established deadlines in an accurate and timely manner, and to manage short and competing deadlines.
