About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented LCMS Service Engineer to join our in-house team at IDEXX Laboratories. As a key member of our R&D Discovery and Technology Futures group, you will play a critical role in providing critical support for mass spectrometry and HPLC instruments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite service, including repairs and preventive maintenance of LCMS and HPLC systems
  • Order and maintain inventory of spare parts, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of critical components
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve issues and improve processes, driving continuous improvement and excellence
  • Stay up-to-date on technical bulletins from vendors, ensuring the latest knowledge and expertise
  • Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn
Requirements
  • AA in electronics technology, biomedical engineering, electrical or similar with at least 10 years of experience
  • BS in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering or similar with 5-7 years of experience
  • Experience with operating, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating complex analyzers or systems, preferably with SCIEX, Thermo, or Bruker mass spectrometers
  • Strong competency in Windows and other software, network knowledge, electrical/electronics, mechanics, chemistry technology, and analytical thinking
  • Exercise judgment in setting work priorities and identifying next steps, demonstrating independence and initiative
  • Able to quickly adapt to change with positive and constructive feedback, working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Detail-oriented and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities, with excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, in a team environment, taking initiative and being accountable
  • Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate techniques and results, implementing improved practices and contributing to a culture of excellence
  • Must be able to stand, bend, and/or kneel for up to two hours at a time, with the ability to move around equipment, lift, push, crawl, and maintain a safe working lab environment
  • Some exposure to biohazards is possible, as these instruments are used in biohazard environments and encounter human and animal bodily fluids
