Job Summary:

We are seeking an exceptional Oncologist - Clinical/Translational Investigator to join our team at the Department of Internal Medicine. As a key member of our Hematology, Oncology, and Palliative Care division, you will play a vital role in advancing our clinical research mission and contributing to the development of the Hematologic Malignancy Research Program at the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct innovative clinical trials in hematologic malignancies, collaborating with laboratory investigators to develop and initiate investigator-initiated trials.
* Participate in Massey's Clinical Trial Training Program and apply for a career development award by year 4.
* Establish extramural partnerships to offer cutting-edge treatments to patients at the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center.
* Teach medical students, residents, and fellows in the lab and clinic, actively participating in providing clinical research opportunities to fellows.
* Engage in scholarly activities, such as publications, presentations at national meetings, and participation in academic organizations.
* Contribute to the development of the Hematologic Malignancy Research Program and work collaboratively with other members of the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Requirements:

* Board certification or eligibility in medical oncology or hematology.
* Eligibility for Virginia licensure.
* Evidence of accomplishment or potential during medical school, residency, fellowship, and/or early academic career.
* Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
