Job Overview

The Senior Software Engineer at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Franklin, WI will contribute to functional and technical specifications, design, and development of applications.

Create high-level and low-level designs and build and maintain reliable systems using tools including Java, Spring tech stack, Unix script, ORM Tools, and Message Services (JMS) to transform data from various systems present in the organization.

Build resilient systems using Docker and Kubernetes. Deploy developed artifacts over CI/CD platform using GitLab on AWS.

Upgrading existing live systems by implementing new technology stack improvements. Monitor live systems, fix bugs, analyze technical solutions, write new features, and provide estimation with engineering team collaboration.

Micro Service development, Junit, Mockito, and Version control GitLab. Modernize existing applications using latest technology stack including Spring Boot, Spring Batch, ORM Tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop applications contributing to functional and technical specifications, design, and development

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 5 years of experience as a software engineer or a related occupation.

Experience must include 5 years with each of the following:

  • Java, J2ee, Object Oriented Programming (OOPs), Database, and ORM Tools;
  • Spring Tech Stack, Unix script;
  • Micro Service development, Junit, Mockito, and Version control GitLab;
  • Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS;
  • developing solutions using agile methods;
Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a highly competitive salary range of $131,893-$203,840 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
