Job Summary

We seek an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee the overall operation and conduct of plant operational tasks during assigned shifts. This full-time position involves supervising operators, serving as the plant contact for interdepartmental and contractor activities affecting site safety and reliability. Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, this exempt, non-union role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and effective communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage daily shift operations, providing guidance to assigned personnel as needed.
  2. Implement and oversee departmental objectives for each shift, ensuring efficient and safe plant operation.
  3. Maintain compliance with company, OSHA safety rules, environmental permits, and regulations.
  4. Provide leadership in implementing company policies and procedures to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency.
  5. Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ultrapure water operations and boiler chemistry.
  6. E nsure Plant operations meet NERC standards and rules.
  7. Enter, track, prioritize, and approve work orders and purchase requisitions in CMMS system.
  8. Schedule, track, and approve hourly employees' time.
  9. Guarantee consistent process control and LOTO procedures are followed.
  10. Ensure uniform monitoring and recordkeeping facility-wide.
  11. Communicate effectively with operations, engineering, maintenance, customer service, etc., to ensure customer satisfaction and successful facility operation.
  12. Responsible for ongoing operator training and qualification programs, coaching staff to improve technical and interpersonal skills.
  13. Instruct staff on auxiliary and BOP equipment operation, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
  14. Oversee operators in housekeeping duties and other assignments as required.
  15. Log data in logbooks, maintain operational SOMPS records.
Requirements and Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering or business preferred.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in utility or industrial settings.
  3. Working knowledge of high-pressure boiler operation, combustion turbine, steam turbine, water treatment, and auxiliary equipment associated with power plant operations.
  4. Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and record gauges and instruments, analyze effects on operations, and maintain accurate records.
  5. Able to lead and interface effectively with others.
Compensation and Benefits

This exempt position offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Additional benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development. Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, this position requires rotating shifts, odd hours, and extended hours as required.
