Job Title:
Health and Wellness Director

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Wellness Director to oversee our health and wellness programs and services.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating and implementing health and wellness initiatives to promote the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our residents.

The Health and Wellness Director will work collaboratively with our team to improve overall health and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that CIEL Senior Living standards and state requirements for resident care are met.
  • Directs staff, ensures regulatory compliance, and is responsible for the management of the clinical budget.
  • Directly oversees the delivery of care to the residents of the community to ensure that emotional, physical, psychological, and safety needs are met through all program services and activities.
  • Coordinates, along with the Executive Director, family/resident care conferences and serves as a direct liaison between residents, families, and staff.
  • Works with residents, families, and other staff to ensure that residents are at appropriate levels of care.
  • Manages labor costs, supplies, and other line items in the clinical budget.
  • Monitors documentation systems to ensure that all regulatory timeframes for review of assessments and service plans are met and that resident needs are met.
  • Writes and reviews residents' assessments/evaluations and care/service-plans with appropriate staff.
  • Assesses/evaluates potential residents for admission into the community and to determine level of care.
  • Provides, plans, schedules, and monitors staff training programs and in-services for staff, including statutory or regulator required training.
  • Attends all required training, in-service, and staff meetings.
  • Manages and coordinates the work of all nursing department/clinical staff of the community, communicating pertinent resident health and safety information.
  • Oversees and/or completes staff schedules at least monthly and daily assignments.
  • Strives to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices.
  • Ensures compliance with all state regulatory requirements, including mandatory reporting to the State.
  • Assists and/or performs in mock surveys.
  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers while adhering to all policies, standards, and procedures of the Company.
  • Visits residents in hospital/rehab.
  • Organizes and communicates with leadership, residents, associates, and families regarding annual flu clinics, TB testing of associates/residents.
  • Participates in community Wellness Programs as assigned.
  • Participates in MOD weekend and holiday coverage, as assigned.
  • Counsels residents in identifying and resolving social or other problems.
  • Education as required to obtain state nursing license (LPN/LVN or RN).
  • Ability to demonstrate appropriate judgment skills and independent clinical decisions in routine and emergency resident care matters.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and flexible hours when necessary to meet the needs of the residents.
  • Valid driver's license: ability to travel to conduct resident assessments and required trainings for professional development.
  • Hear - Must be able to hear telephone, audible alarms, bells, and signals related to resident safety with or without hearing devices.
  • Speech/Language - must have a strong command of English sufficient to read and write and interpret administrative information.
