The Senior Fleet Mechanic role at US Foods, Inc. requires a highly skilled and experienced professional to diagnose and repair diesel equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
This position involves extensive hands-on experience in managing repairs, maintaining logs, and troubleshooting issues. Additionally, the mechanic will support road service calls and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, rebuilding, replacing, and completing all required repairs on diesel equipment.
- Performing preventative maintenance within company standards.
- Completing documentation of all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability.
- Handling road service calls and performing road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
The ideal candidate will have a valid Class-A CDL license, DOT certification (preferred), and at least 7 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic. Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency, analytical and problem-solving skills, and prior experience in administering appropriate PM programs are also essential.
The salary for this role is expected to be between $22 and $38 per hour, depending on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.
