About the Role

As a Clinical Coordinator Surgical Unit at Detroit Medical Center, you will be responsible for leading the care delivery team and coordinating patient care through assigning and scheduling staff. You will prioritize, delegate, and evaluate patient care while working closely with the interdisciplinary team to problem-solve system and unit-based issues.

Responsibilities
  • Supplement staffing under direction of Administrative Director and/or Clinical Manager
  • Take an abbreviated patient care assignment to ensure leadership responsibilities are fulfilled
  • Act as a clinical resource person and assist in planning and facilitating staff meetings and staff development
  • Collaborate with manager to monitor staffing changes and ensure adequate nurse-patient ratio on a given shift
  • Facilitate shared decision making among staff and improve unit throughput on given shifts to reduce LOS (Length of Stay)
  • Develop policies, procedures, and standards for the department
