Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Search Engine Optimization Manager to drive the development, implementation, and optimization of the search experience across the AWS website.

About the Role

This is an opportunity to improve the search experience for our customers by driving the roadmap and strategy around content quality, organization, and discoverability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be the guardian for content quality and SEO best practices, continually raising the bar for best-in-class content and search engine discoverability.
  • Educate marketers and content authors on SEO best practices and evangelize SEO best practices across the organization.
  • Partner with teams across the company to develop processes and mechanisms to ensure AWS website content adheres to SEO best practices.
  • Partner with marketers and content authors to develop and implement content marketing campaigns to grow SEO traffic.
  • Provide support to technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure new site features and/or content adheres to SEO best practices.
  • Maintain a library of documentation and articles that educate the organization on SEO best practices.
  • Audit the AWS web property content to find opportunities to grow the natural search channel.
  • Perform keyword research and data analysis to make the case for projects and their prioritization.
  • Analyze, track, and report on overall natural search performance, using data to report out progress on key initiatives with insights that will shape future SEO content strategy.
About AWS

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest-growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

Requirements
  • 4+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience managing or working within cross-functional marketing and creative teams
  • Experience equally comfortable building strategic marketing plans and executing at a tactical level
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in online retail/B2C marketing
  • Working knowledge of current search engine ranking factors and industry best practices
  • Working knowledge of paid search, including how it works in tandem with organic search
  • Working knowledge of basic SEO concepts (keyword research, user intent, crawlability, mobile-friendly, page speed, etc.)
  • Understanding of technical SEO concepts such as content optimization, XML sitemaps, structured data, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, information architecture, & a strong developer/I.T. understanding
  • Experience managing complex SEO content initiatives including content strategy, development, implementation, testing, and measurement.
  • Experience using enterprise SEO tools such as Google Webmaster Tools, Moz, seoClarity, ScreamingFrog, Botify, Etc.
  • Ability to interpret data and make business recommendations to improve the customer search experience
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment
  • Great attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across all levels of the organization
