About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Automation Systems Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems for industrial automation using Siemens PLCs and HMI software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain control systems for industrial automation using Siemens PLCs and HMI software
- Program, simulate, and test automated machinery and processes to ensure they function according to specifications
- Troubleshoot complex control systems and provide technical support for production issues involving Siemens controls and Fanuc robots
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, maintenance, and other team members to integrate and maintain control systems with mechanical systems
- Develop and manage project documentation including system layouts, electrical diagrams, and detailed work instructions
- Conduct training sessions for operators and maintenance personnel on the proper use and maintenance of control systems
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Systems Engineering, or equivalent field
- 7-10 years of experience in control engineering, specifically with Siemens control systems and Fanuc robots
- Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms including Siemens Unified/Comfort, Allen Bradley Panelview, Ignition, and others
- Ability to read and understand P&IDs, construction drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a willingness to dive into technical challenges
- Strong understanding of pneumatics is a plus
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experienced with hazardous material and/or energetics processing
- Formal problem-solving experience, i.e., DMAIC, 5-why or 3 x 5 why, Kepner-Tregoe, etc.
- Experience leveraging lean manufacturing principles for designing and/or improving processes
Estimated Salary:$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
